Derive and explain transcendental equations for two dimensional waveguides.

For an optical waveguide explain surface scattering, absorption losses, radiation and bending losses.

Describe fabrication process for optical waveguides. Write all the steps and explain with help of suitable diagram.

Write down difference between vacuum-deposition and solution-deposition during waveguide fabrication techniques?

Explain about epitaxial growth of III-V compound semiconductor materials.
